Guevara and Partners was founded on September 23, 1993 by Engineer Fernando Guevara. His vision was to establish an integrated mechanical and electrical engineering design firm to serve the commercial and industrial sectors of the construction industry.
Engineer Guevara’s first big break was the design of the Enterprise Center, a two (2) tower high-rise office building in Makati owned by the Kuok Group.
GPI was likewise involved in most of the condominium projects in Makati and Eastwood by renowned developer Megaworld Properties. GPI designed the MEP of some of the most prestigious hotel projects in Manila and Cebu including the Makati Shangri-La, EDSA Shangri-La Extension, SM Radisson Blu, Cebu Hilton, Bellevue Hotel 1 and 2, and SM Conrad Manila Bay Hotel.
In 2002, Mr. Guevara, a licensed Professional Engineer in the US, established a MEP design office in Glendale, California to serve the international consulting and outsourcing market. During this time, he gained experience in US building standards and energy codes.
In the Philippines, he introduced the use of low emissivity (low-e) glass in the Joy Nostalg Building and Bellevue Suites. He also pioneered the use of heat pump for domestic water heating in hotels, eliminating the use of diesel fired boilers in Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu.
In 2005, his sons Francis, a Professional Mechanical and Plumbing Engineer and Fernando Jr., a Professional Electronics and Electrical Engineer, joined GPI as his Partners, to continue his vision of a greener built environment for the next generation.
Today, GPI brings their valuable insight to any project and remains a strong MEP design firm with the innovative use of active and passive technologies to minimize long term operating costs. GPI has earned the trust of its many clients who include Architects, Owners and Developers.
